Girl Gang HQ at The Storyhouse Women Weekend

Fri, 26 Apr 2019 – Sun, 28 Apr 2019

We’re delighted to have been asked to attend The Storyhouse Women weekend in Chester this April.

We’ll be joining Rose McGowan, Louise Minchin, Cece Sinclair and Alabaster Queen in the three day celebrations.

Storyhouse Women is a year round programme and annual weekend of workshops, performances, live panel discussions and debates, music and more. Whenever there’s even the faintest whiff of local feminism you can guarantee we’ll be there but this weekend is something we’re extra proud to be part of.

The Storyhouse is for everyone, an inclusive hub of creativity and magic. The recent #NoOutsiders work on display by schools in Chester is proof of just that. The weekend will be a celebration of what it means to be a woman or anyone who identifies as a woman or girl in the world today.

On Saturday at 11:30 on the main stage I will form part of the Love Shouldn’t Hurt -Domestic Violence panel along with women who have survived an abusive relationship. The discussion will be lead by Tina Royles, a truly inspirational woman and author of When The Apple of Your Eye Is Rotten To The Core. We’ll be asking why in 2017/18 over one in four women were victims of domestic violence; 60,000 were the victims of rape, 400,000 were sexually assaulted and two women died every single week due to domestic violence. We’ll be talking about how you can successfully get the support of the right people should you ever find you need it and we’ll be sharing our personal accounts.

The panel, along with Chester Women’s aid, will be in The Kitchen after the debate to answer questions and give support and encouragement to those who need it.

Laura and I will be repping Girl Gang HQ downstairs on Saturday in The Kitchen where you can witness the launch of our brand new enamel pin badges. It’s going to be an absolute sass fest and it would be great to see you there!

10% of all profits made at the Girl Gang HQ stand on Saturday will be donated directly to Chester Women’s Aid - a charity supporting anyone fleeing domestic abuse.

You can purchase a weekend or day pass from the Storyhouse website:
